Lady Lux

Biography

What do you get when you take three extremely attractive ladies, all professionally trained dancers and add singing skills to boot? Nothing less than Lady Lux, the new R&B girl group hailing from the Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment empire. Amaris, Brittny, and Dot, three multi-talented budding stars, make up this engaging trio of soulful and luxurious lady singers.

Amaris, Brittny and Dot, who upon meeting were individually pursuing their music careers, soon recognized that same desire to take things to the next level in one another. They inevitably planted the seed for their own full-fledged group in 2005. After mapping out a vision for what Lady Lux was to become, the ladies set out on the journey to conquer their goals. "We were probably a little overly excited," Amaris laughs, "because within two days of forming Lady Lux, we had written and recorded our first song and two weeks after that had booked and choreographed our very first show." Brittny credits these events to something else, "We believe in work ethic and we love to work hard." "No one can want it more than you, you have to want it for yourself," Dot echoed. Not to be fooled, the ladies aren't all work and no play.

"Brittny and Amaris are sooooo funny!" Dot says, "I mean they literally have me dying sometimes!" There was an instant sense of camaraderie and connection between the ladies. “Being a part of the group was a really big deal to me,” says Brittny who sings lead. Bringing the edge with her self-titled ‘real talk’ style of music, Brittny, the Houston native, is also a strong vocal arranger. Meanwhile, Dot, who hails from Fort Worth, contributes style, the sultry flo, unparalleled dance routines and business savvy. Amaris, who grew up in Lousiana, is the glue that binds Lady Lux. She often adds the pertinent finishing touches.

All writers, singers and former Houston Rockets Power Dancers, Lady Lux rapidly learned how to integrate each of their talents. Dot asserts, “Everyone’s role is so vital,” . “We understand the importance of our gifts and we appreciate what each of us has to offer.” This higher insight among the three women only served to benefit them when approached by Mathew Knowles. Mathew expressed an interest in the girls after performing at the Music World Christmas celebration in 2005. After their stunning performance, Mathew agreed to consider Lady Lux for Music World’s roster. With the possibility of being a signed group, the girls dedicated more time to improving their stage show, acquiring performance slots, and building the machine behind Lady Lux, all which impressed Mr. Knowles.

Shortly thereafter, Lady Lux began recording records with producers Bryan Michael Cox, Troy Taylor and Cameron Wallace (Beyonce’s “Upgrade You”), as official Music World artists, all in an effort to create their upcoming album. Most apparent when listening to the music of Lady Lux is their harmonizing agility. The mid-tempo ballad “Whatever it Takes,” an ode to keeping a relationship alive, best displays the strength in each of their voices as they are interwoven amongst each other. Meanwhile, “This My Song,” the percussion pronounced, lyrically assertive jam, celebrates womanhood in the most sexy manner. With a combination of smooth grooves, up-tempo party starters and beautiful ballads, Lady Lux unquestionably show case their ability to reign in the R&B girl group sector. It’s only a matter of time before this group does “whatever it takes” to keep you listening to their songs.
