Not only is the talented Solange Knowles making hit songs for herself (her single "I Decided," produced by Pharrell Williams, has been #1 on Billboard's "Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales" and "Hot Dance Singles Sales" charts for 2 weeks!), as a songwriter she continues to knock out the hits for others. "We Break The Dawn," the hot new song she co-wrote for label mate Michelle Williams lands at the #1 spot on Billboard's "Hot Dance Airplay" chart.

Solange also recently won an "R&B and Hip-Hop Song" ASCAP award for the hit single "Get Me Bodied," that she co-wrote for Beyonce's B-Day.

But the sassy singer's talents don't stop at singing and songwriting. On July 15, 2008, she put on the hat of video director when she made her directorial debut with "Sandcastle Disco" (written by Cee-Lo and produced by Soulshock & Karlin), the second (2nd) single off of her sophomore release, SoL-AngeL & The Hadley St. Dreams due on August 26th.

Solange, forever having a creative mind, wrote the treatment for "Sandcastle Disco," just as she did for her first (1st) single, "I Decided." The video is a journey into a cutting edge, inventive, fantasy land of abstract visuals that come together to make a video that is a rollercoaster ride for the viewer that only gets better just when he/she thinks its over.

It's a living pop up book... each page folding over and zooming into the next. The colors are vivid, I used many references from the movie Across The Universe that are links in the treatment and also the HP commercials we've seen running with Jay-Z and Serena Williams, states Solange.

The forthcoming release of SoL-AngeL & The Hadley St. Dreams boast an incredible array of producers and guest appearances including Motown's own Lamont Dozier who teams up with the talented Mark Ronson on the captivating "6 O'clock Blues," The Freemasons remix of "I Decided," and chart-topping Lil' Wayne shares the spotlight on "ShampagneChronicKnightCap." Fashion Rocks first took New York Fashion Week by storm in 2004 and it still remains the hottest ticket of the season. Conde Nast Media Group celebrates the fifth anniversary of Fashion Rocks with an unprecedented line-up of performers including: Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Duffy, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Mariah Carey and Rihanna among others.

The legendary Radio City Music Hall will once again play host to the star-studded live event on September 5, 2008, celebrating the powerful relationship between fashion and music. The concert will air the following Tuesday night, September 9, 2008 in a two-hour special on the CBS television network (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT). Proceeds from the event will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.

New to the mix is producer/director Don Mischer. Mischer, who was at the helm of Movies Rock(TM), has won 13 Primetime Emmy Awards and a record nine Directors Guild of America Awards. Don Mischer Productions' credits range from The Kennedy Center Honors, Baryshnikov by Tharp and the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall to Super Bowl halftime shows, the Emmy Awards, and the opening ceremonies of the Salt Lake Olympic Winter Games.

The Fashion Rocks magazine will also return this year bigger and better then ever. Slated to reach over 60 million readers and filled with even more editorial content, Fashion Rocks magazine will accompany the September issue of 16 Conde Nast titles. Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and Contributing Editor Jonathan Van Meter will again take the helm as editor-in-chief and editorial director, respectively.
